Windows10, and JAWS changes from XP?

I still have XP for a few days. I'll have to get something different, and it's suggested I just get Windows10, instead of working up. Any current XP users, you should know I'm getting a lot of notices that stuff like Dropbox and other internet programs are ditching XP support, completely. I'll change over, kicking and screaming.
Laughing!
Anyway, I'd have said a post on Hardy Boy's topic, but my questions are much different. Here goes:
1: I have JAWS10. What JAWS works best with Windows10?
2: How is the starting menu different? At least, the person getting me the rebuild knows how to make different menus, so I can gradually learn that.
3: I bet my life savings, (a few pennies) that JAWS doesn't offer cassettes for training, anymore? Kind of a no-brainer. So, where can you get that boring dude that tutors on recording? Or, do I need to hire a living being? Cause, I kind of don't think a live person will train me for my life savings.
Laughing!

Thanks, and God Bless!
Sarah

If you wish to remain with Jaws, you'll need 17 for the best experience.
It has been said that Windows speech software is good now, so you could just use that and not install Jaws at all.
You can also get the latest NVDA, and that is also free.
As to your learning it, it should be easy.
You'll need help installing it, because you have to do several things to update from XP to 10.
You'll need technical support to do this.

You don't really need the training cassettes anymore either, since JAWS does offer several training books that you can access via their FS reader software. A human voice does read everything, and they definitely do demos of things in order to show you how they work. It will be a pretty major leap switching from windows XP to windows 10 regardless, and you might need some help for the first month or so. Especially if you're not really that good with technology.
Switching to NVDA is also a viable option, as post 2 has said. They're starting to come out with tutorials for it which will definitely help the inexperienced user get a good leg up when switching. I haven't really tested narrator all that much though since windows 10 anniversary edition was released, but it's something that I've been meaning to get around to.

I also really need to get around to trying narrator . I read an article from a user that rated it number one, so I'm interested.
I'll not ditch Jaws just yet, because Microsoft is new to the game, and I wonder how well they'll keep upgrading.
Sarah, if memry serves, I thought you'd post about having Windows 7, and needing to learn it?
Are you sure you're not using 7, being you say you are receiving messages to upgrade to Windows 10?

I talked to the person making the computer. They recommend I just go up to ten. It's supposedly cheaper. Apparently, there's a way to program a menu to make it like this one, but I don't know much about that kind of stuff.
BTW, they are coming for the old heap, on Friday morning.I hope I won't be long without it. I have emails and all kinds of stuff to keep up on.
Anyway, it will be hard. I thought we were going to 7, but with ten being free and all, it's the best time. I don't know what we are doing about access. I can't get JAWS. I used to have that one Access something for being able to transfer computers, but lost my password, and username. I don't think I'll be able to access that either. And, I know nothing about NVDA.
Blessings,
Sarah

No. You had stated some place that you had gotten a new computer and you had to now learn windows 7.
You can get Jaws. Freedom scientific has your info.
Seems you are making this harder then it should be?
You'll need 17 if you chose to remain with Jaws, so when you get that, you'll have all you need.
